POSITION TITLEPatient Care Representative

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Facilitates the flow through the Exodus Health Care Network, schedules patient visits, registers patients and verifies all pertinent information. IE: Insurance, Address, Phone, Date of birth.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

ï Reporting Relationship

Reports to the Reception Team Leader of the Exodus Health Care Network.

ï Functions Performed Only by Incumbent:

Responsible for receiving customers to the Exodus Health Care Network, and other duties as designated by the Front Office Manager

ï Internal and External Contacts

Interfaces with all personnel of the Exodus Health Care Network. 

MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Fosters the Mission of the Exodus Health Care Network.
  • Utilizes team-building concepts with an emphasis on continuous quality improvement.
  • Uses the organization’s core values to guide patients through the clinic.
  • Operates computer terminals, printers, copiers, fax and credit card equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Utilizes excellent interpersonal communication skills in dealing with others in sometimes highly stressful situations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with other EXODUS HEALTH CARE NETWORK staff, patients and their families and friends, private physicians, and hospital staff. 
  • Ability to work with other facilities to expedite transfers or referrals to other physicians.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of situations, including patients who are ill and can at times be unreasonable and unpleasant
  • Serves as the first contact with patients, and therefore functions as the public relations person for the organization. 
  • Ability to handle and diffuse frightened, angry, intoxicated, and possibly situations.
  • Greet patients as they present to EXODUS HEALTH CARE NETWORK
  • Registration of all patients, superbills, copy insurance cards, collecting fee’s at time of service, and writing receipts for money collected.
  • Assists patients with questions concerning charges and insurance billing.
  • Answers the telephone, schedules appointments, screens calls and uses judgment with respect to the degree of urgency for medical attention when required.
  • Sorts and distributes mail and faxes to appropriate employees/departments.
  • Shares responsibility for the maintenance of equipment in the reception area.

POSTION TITLE: Medical Assistant

EDUCATION:

  • Certified Medical Assistant in the state of Utah

  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills

NATURE AND SCOPE:

ï Reporting Relationship

Reports to the Medical Assistant Team Leader and /or Clinical Manager of the Exodus Health Care Network.

ï Functions Performed Only by Incumbent:

Responsible for supporting all medical providers at Exodus Health Care Network, and other duties as mutually designated by the Medical Assistant Team Leader or Clinical Manager

ï Internal and External Contacts

Interfaces with all personnel of the Exodus Health Care Network. 

MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team building approach to coordination of quality patient care, consistent with the mission of the Exodus Health Care Network
  • Assists patients into the exam room, obtains complete vital signs and prepares them for the examination, including documentation and assists the provider with the examination when appropriate.
  • Under the direction of the provider, obtains lab specimens, performs pulse oximetry, spirometry, EKG’s, and schedule tests and consults by other providers.
  • Promptly answers/returns phone calls and handles clinical concerns (i.e., lab questions, lab billings, prescription refills, homecare follow-up, etc.)
  • Maintains computerized patient medical records and proper documentation.
  • Participates in a designated clinic team, and supports the total quality improvement philosophy of the clinic.
  • Completes continuing education, in-service training, technical updates and other activities to assure continued competency
  • Maintains warm, sensitive and cooperative relationships with patients, patient’s families, co-workers, administration, medical staff, etc.
  • Treats all “customers” in a polite and congenial manner
  • Demonstrates sincere concern and sensitivity to the needs of all “customer” at all times.
  • Regards personal information offered by others in private and confidential manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information
  • Responds to inquiries in an appropriate and polite manner.

POSTION TITLE: Limited Practical Radiology Technologist (LPRT) Specialist

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Participates as an integral part of the team approach to patient care
  • Responsible for producing x-rays as requested by providers to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. 
  • Participates in Equipment maintenance, manage film check out, and inputs radiology reports

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma.
  • LPRT certification and Utah State license
  • Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Utah

EXPERIENCE: 

  • CPR (Basic Life Support)
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills
  • Phlebotomy
  • Triage skills and vitals

POSITION TITLE: Finance Team Specialist

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 

This position is responsible for the coding, pricing and data entry of all charges and submission of

claims, manual and electronic, to third-party payers.  The incumbent works with the Coder in resolving problems with insurance claims that require resubmission.  The position is responsible for the posting of insurance payments and billing of secondary insurance.  This position is responsible for customer service for billing questions by telephone or walk-in, collection of personal pay balances, collection agency coordination, set up and monitor payment plans, process bankruptcy and returned checks.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma.

JOB REQUIREMENTS;

  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT terminology
  • Knowledge of hospital billing procedures
  • Familiarity with third party billing procedures
  • Knowledge of electronic billing procedures and associated reports
  • Skilled data entry with high level of accuracy
  • Minimal typing speed of 50 wpm
  • Customer service and telephone etiquette skills
  • Understanding of billing and collection processes
  • Experience in handling collections and bankruptcy issues

Responsible for collections at the Exodus Health Care Network, and other duties as designated by the

Credit Manager or Practice Administrator

Interfaces with all personnel of the Exodus Health Care Network. 

MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Review all charges for completeness and accuracy with proper coding, pricing, and ICD-9 diagnosis code. 
  • Data-entry and reconciliation of all billing into billing system.
  • Electronic submission of claims including set-up, maintenance and insurance carrier contact for problem resolution.
  • Posting and reconciliation of daily cash collected for co-pays and in-office payments.
  • Maintenance of billing fields for providers, insurance carriers, etc.
  • Assist with other billing/collection projects as required. 
  • Transmit electronic claims 2x during week.
  • Customer service contact for phone calls and walk-in patients to resolve questions about account balances and insurance issues.

POSITION TITLE: Family Physician

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Provides quality, cost-effective medical care on behalf of Exodus Healthcare Network.

EDUCATION:

  • GRADUATE EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine, US residency trained.  Board Certified/Board Eligible.
  • CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: Utah Licensed MD/DO

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Previous experience in family practice, excellent communication skills. 

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Reporting Relationship:

  • Reports to the Medical Director of Exodus Healthcare Network.
  • The incumbent works with all the departments of the medical facility concerning all medical matters and keeps the Medical Director informed of the operational status of the facility.
  • Number of others at same level reporting to the same person: Four

Functions Performed Only by Incumbent:

Busy family practice and urgent care medical center, ability to care for patients of all ages, consistent with mission of Exodus Healthcare Network.

Internal and External Contacts:

Interacts with all departments within Exodus Healthcare Network.  Works closely with physicians, mid-level providers, practice administrator, and other staff at the facility

MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for diagnosing and treating all patients presented to the clinic while maintaining expected medical standards.
  • Supervises mid-level providers while on-site at an Exodus Healthcare Network facility to which Employee is assigned. Advise management on medical deficiencies of medical auxiliary personnel.
  • See patients in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Refers patients with serious conditions necessitating inpatient care to appropriate specialty physician per criteria of federal, state, and managed care companies.
  • Recognize the needs and desires of insurance contracts.
  • Work with the staff in a positive, constructive manner.
  • Advise Medical Director of administrative and medical deficiencies when noted.
  • Contribute to the training and proficiencies of all clinical personnel.
  • Abides by Exodus Healthcare Network dress codes and Policies and Procedures not otherwise addressed in employment contract.

POSITION TITLE: Mid-level provider

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Provides quality, cost-effective medical care at the Exodus Health Care Network.

EDUCATION:

  • GRADUATE EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner school.
  • CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: Utah Licensed PA-C/FNP

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Previous experience in family practice, excellent communication skills.

  • Reports to the Provider Team and Provider Team Leader of the Exodus Healthcare Network. 
  • The incumbent works with all the departments of the medical facility concerning all medical matters and keeps the Provider Team Leader informed of the operational status of the facility.
  • Number of others at same level reporting to the same person: 7

Functions Performed Only by Incumbent:
